Culinary Nutrition Cooking Class Schedule


Cindy Santa Ana, Nutritional Therapist, Integrative Nutrition Health Coach and Culinary Nutrition Expert, will be leading exciting and fun cooking classes through December.

You'll learn how to use food as medicine that also tastes amazing! Every recipe uses organic ingredients that are dairy-free, gluten-free and sourced locally. Vegetarian (V) as noted.


Classes are from 11:00am - 1:00pm; $60 per person, located at 100 Bowls of Soup, 279 Sunset Park Drive, Herndon VA 20170

December 8 - Smoothie & Elixir Magic - Green smoothies are ok, but they're not really my jam. What is? Elixirs! These magical drinks have superpowers that can boost your immunity, energy and some even have cancer-fighting properties! I'll show you how I make my Winter Smoothie and a couple of warming elixirs that beat those expensive coffee shop concoctions any day! Wel'll make Golden Milk, an Anti-inflammatory Turmeric Ginger Elixir, a Chocolate Mushroom Immune Booster that is a great sub for plain 'ole coffee and my Warm Winter Smoothie. Then, we'll head to "fungi town" and learn how to use medicinal mushrooms, elderberry, cinnamon, maca, collagen, spices and herbs to heal the body. Our Nutrition Workshop portion will be on using Culinary Herbs for Medicinal Purposes!

 

 

 

WINTER CLASS SCHEDULE:

Saturday, Jan. 12 Anti-inflammatory Winter Foods  What's the best way to lower inflammation? An anti-inflammatory diet and lifestyle! I’ll make nutrient-dense recipes that put out the flame and begin the healing process.    

Saturday, Feb. 9  Liver Healing Foods – Our livers take a beating from Rx drugs to alcohol to environmental toxins and increased triglycerides. I’ll share recipes that support liver cleansing and you’ll learn how to love up your liver!

 

Saturday, Mar. 9 – Healthy Gut Foods - I'll share the best tips on getting your digestion and tummy issues under control. We'll discuss methods for healing leaky gut and the best foods to eat for that and to help gut flora proliferate. Recipes will include foods that support healthy digestion.

Class Policies:
Classes are recommended for ages 12 and up.
Weather policy: If a class is canceled due to inclement weather, you will receive a full refund. If you find it unsafe to drive, your registration will go towards a future class.
You must cancel within 3 days of a class to receive a refund.
A minimum of six is required to run a class and a maximum of 14 is allowed.
Classes are mostly tastings and not full meals.
Please refrain from wearing perfume or any personal care product with fragrance.
Walnuts, cashews and almonds may be included in some classes. If you have specific allergies, please let me know before you register. NO peanuts will be used, however. All food is gluten- and dairy-free, low in sugar and mostly local and organic.
